SJS BOT VOTES 'NO THANKS' TO
THE RETURN OF DR. JENKINS.

As expected, the BOT chose to ignore what the majority of the SJS Community asked them to do — to bring back Dale and Kedel. As you can see, the SJS BOT did not even meet with Dr. Jenkins to ask him to return, as requested by the many supporters present at the PTA. SJS BOT President asks us to 'respect' the decision that was made for the benefit of the community. He goes on to state that the focus should be on the school and its educational mission. But just what is that mission? What is the strategy? How can the BOT claim strategy and mission for the future of SJS when they DO NOT have a replacement of Dr. Jenkins in the very crucial position of Upper School Principal?

It is clear that the BOT has acted hastily with NO planning as they elude, since it is impractical and unrealistic to expect Jorge Nelson to assume both roles of Headmaster and Upper School Principal. It is clear that based on this action, and for that matter the 'lack' of action to have an immediate qualified replacement in place, SJS academics has taken a backseat to political disagreements. We will have more analysis on what this means to SJS in an upcoming editorial.
