"SJS
BOT to hold executive session to discuss Jenkins case."
It was announced during the PTA meeting on 1/16/04, that
the SJS BOT would meet and discuss Dr. Jenkins 'retirement'
during an executive meeting on Saturday 1/18/04.
Supporters of Dr. Jenkins and Mrs. Kedel Jenkins are hopeful
for a reinstatement of both the Jenkins.

"No
decision from BOT announced ... critics doubt anything will
change."
The SJS BOT did not release any news regarding Dr. Jenkins
on Saturday (1/17/04) .
All we've been told by SJS is that both sides are 'talking',
said SJS Alumni President Kaz Endo.
Many people are wondering if the SJS BOT and its Headmaster
Jorge Nelson, are going to conduct a fair reevaluation of
the situation that resulted in the (infamous) sudden 'retirement'
announcement by Dr. Jenkins.
"The BOT and our new headmaster fail to see what they've
done to our school. Dr. J is not only a great principal,
but a teacher with tremendous tenure. Asking him to 'resign'
without justification, to me, is a moral and ethical crime."
said one supporter present at the PTA
meeting on Thursday night.
SJS Headmaster announced Dr. and Mrs. Jenkins', sudden and
unexpected 'retirement' from the school after the holiday
break ... many speculated that the abrupt decision by the
Jenkins was not consistent with what they were saying before
the holiday break and began to ask questions.
"It's a power play by the current headmaster. It's
simply not a good decision. Dr. Jenkins is important to
our school. We're supporting him (Dr. Jenkins) all the way."
said an 2003 alumni observer via email.
Whatever the outcome, one thing is clear. The majority of
the SJS community past and present does not want either
Dale or Kedel to retire. And the general consensus amongst
observers are that the Jenkins too wish to stay. |
